Kari

Kari is my baby. She is the one that was sick most of her childhood. She is the one that was always little and never really grew up. She has always looked young for her age. There have been numerous occasions when we took "our little girl" to dinner and they brought her crayons and a sippy cup. Many times she was probably older than the person waiting on us.

This has been the source of a lot of fun. However, about 6 months ago she had a baby of her own and on Valentines Day she accepted an engagement ring. So this blog is a time for her mother to reflect on all the goofy and fun times through out the years. And a time to realize that her children are grown. How crazy is that???? This is for you Kari. Wishing you a life full of love, fun, fulfilled dreams, and happiness.

Happy Valentines Day

Yesterday was Valentines Day and we had a great time. The celebration began when I got to work Friday and found a dozen roses in my office. I was surprised. They are beautiful - as my husband said - "I get it right once in awhile." Actually, he gets it right quite often. Saturday we had Belgium Waffles for breakfast with Bill's new waffle maker. Kyler decided to buy conversation hearts for everyone and what a surprise when he opened them up and couldn't read them - it helps if you buy the English version. We had a pretty good laugh about that.
Robyn's kids sent us cards that were great. "I a door you" - check them out!

And then we have some pics just for fun. Joshua is a happy little boy. And a pic of the park a few blocks from my office where I spend occasional lunch breaks. We have had pretty warm weather and the ice is starting to melt on the little lake.

Another month gone by

My goal when I started this blog was to post something once a week. Well, I am lucky to get something on here once a month. It has been a great way to see how my nieces and nephews are doing and I love it. I have been trying to get my kids involved but they are worse than me - except Robyn. She has been great about updating her bog. And of course that makes for a happy Grandma! When we were in Washington for Thanksgiving, Bill had a chance to go see some of his bowling buddies.

I also saw my nephew recently (Curt's son). He looks so much like my brother that I thought it was him when I first saw the picture.

Madelyn had a birthday recently - she turned 9. I had both babies there and had a great time. I can't believe Josh is a month younger than Gracie. She is crawling all over the place now. Nothing can stop her.

Shannon spent most of the day hanging out with the kids and playing games.

I think my favorite picture is of Chris with the evil eyes. I raised him well!

I spent an afternoon at a dairy for an essay I had to write for my English class. It had to be based on an experience. It brought back some old memories of my dairy testing days. With all the technology in the industry you would think they could find a way to get rid of the smell. Some things never change. Believe it or not, I enjoyed being back in the barn. Although, I'm glad I don't work there anymore.
