Trip to Omaha

I got to spend a few days in Omaha wtih Robyn and her family. Unfortunately I couldn't go during spring break so I only had a few days. The day I was leaving it started to snow and we had blizzard like conditions but I was lucky enough to get out before it hit. I had a great time in Omaha. We went shooting - my first time and I had a blast. I did much better than I expected. That first shot though felt pretty creepy. I was so proud of my target I brought it home with me - Glen got me the biggest target he could find so it was not a real surprise when I actaully hit the target most of the time! We spent a day at the zoo for Elly's birthday and we made a short stop at the Missouri River. I had a book with easy cookie recipes so I let the girls pick one out and we made them. Sorry for the mess I left you Robyn. I also bought the movie Twilight while I was there. I had heard so many good reviews that I could hardly wait to see it. I was very disappointed - I thought it was kind of boring. While we were at the zoo I let Ashleigh and Jayson take lots of pics - they thought I needed a new one for my computer wall paper. I now have a picture of jelly fish as my background. I love the aqauriam at this zoo. It is like walking through a tunnel - the water is on both sides and over top too. Of course the night life wasn't my favorite - I had to hang on to the kids cause I am so old and blind! Anyway, I had to come home too early. Elly wouldn't even tell me goodbye cause she was mad that I was leaving. The hard life of a grandma! When I was taking pictures of the kids, Jeremiah would smile big every time he saw the camera. Aaric, however, would always hide. I finally got a few without his hand in front of his face. - and the one picture that looks like it is sideways - well, turning it didn't help - I took it crooked. What can I say.

One more week...

The other day I had my three sons over for dinner. I made them sit for a picture and they were not very happy with me. We had a great time though. Last Wednesday I babysat so Sara (Chris's wife) could go skiing with her sister. We had kids in and out all day. I had Kyllen for a few hours while Shannon went to a doctor appointment. Then Kari had to work so I had Josh also. The day went great until I went to school to pick up Madelyn. I had two screaming babies in the back seat and Madelyn did not see me so she went back inside the school. About a half hour later we finally met up. Sara, however, did not have such a good day. She broke her leg by lunch time and didn't get home from the hospital until late that night. Then she had surgery a few days later. Her mom just came in today to stay for a few weeks and help her out. It is good timing because I am going to see Robyn and her family in a few days.

Nothing much going on this week

I am having a great time this week. I am on spring break and I am not working. It doesn't get any better. I spent all last week catching up on homework. I was ready for a break. I haven't done much of anything this week except for laundry and babysitting. Here are a few pics of Josh. The other day he was sitting next to Grandpa and they both fell asleep sitting up - it was adorable. However, before I could find the camera, Grandpa escaped.

I Hate Playdough

My kids all know I hate playdough. I seldom let them play with it when they were little. My mother thought it was great fun to give it to her grandkids. I, however, have never given it to my grandkids - especially the ones that live at my house. There is nothing worse than playdough stuck in the carpet or dry playdough on the table. So when Kyllen got playdough for Christmas from his aunt (thank you Robyn!) I was anything but thrilled. His dad finally let him play with it one day. He was sitting at the table making all kinds of stuff and we left him alone to play. About five minutes later he walked into the living room with a big grin on his face. He apparently got tired of playing with it and decided it would be more fun to wear. Anyway, it was so funny I had to get a pic!

Bill and I babysat 3 kids on Friday - it was crazy with 2 babies. But it was fun to see the kids.

Kyllen had his birthday this weekend. I've got a great picture of him throwing a temper tantrum. I didn't stay very long. I had an interview for a paper I am working on. Sometimes school gets in the way!
